Retirement of Laird Consulting 370t

It is with great regret we announce that following on from the cessation of Laird Consulting as a trading concern the decision has been taken to retire the vessel of the same name.

The decision was made based on two factors:

  1. There were some fundamental construction flaws in the original design
  2. Renaming a vessel is considered unlucky

The team have a new design and will endeavour to build a race winning boat utilising the knowledge gained over the past year of design and racing.

Updates on the build process and naming rights can be expected in upcoming months.

    What will become of Laird consulting? Will she become a training vessel? Sold off to raise funds? Or burnt at sea

    Thank you for your interest. The Laird Team (new name still undecided) have kindly donated the hull to the Footy 370t Exec Committee. We shall be offering it to the Republic of Ireland team as a competition hull. Failing that it will be redrafted, either as a training boat or recovery vessel.
