The Footy 370t Exec Committee today paid a visit to the workshops of Team Darbryl after receiving notification the team where ready for an official weigh in session.
Thats right! Darbryl 1 is now complete and ready for sea trials - the official weigh is 340g minus rig. Team Boss T-Bag - "we were hoping for maybe 15 - 20g less on the hull, but overall producing a footy pattern hull at under 350g is pleasing enough - we have also opted for a heavy duty sail servo so there is scope to reduce by at least 20g later in the season if we feel the need".
So, thats it for another update from the footy exe..........wait - whats this, coming out under a cloak of extreme secrecy.........it can't be!.........it is!!!!!!! Darbryl2TS is coming out for its own weigh in. Surely it can't be finished. T-Bag? "She certainly is - following our electronics delivery the team have been hard at work and she is now ready for sea trials of her own".
And the weight? - Oh my goodness, 235g!!!!!!!
"We are very pleased with the outcome - the build has gone well except for one little hiccup - of course, owing to the totally revolutionary design she may flounder in her first sea test". Thanks T-Bag, we'll wait and see!
What, no pictures!!! what does she look like, details, details - quickly!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your excellent question. Unfortunately we have had to sign a confidentiality agreement with regards to Darbryl2TS at the moment, but they assure us this will be lifted soon. Darbryl1 on the other hand is looking fantastic - and we expect to have photos up on the site in the next couple days.
ReplyDelete235 gms!!!!! impossible, i cant and wont believe it. Such technical advances are way beyond the Footy Class surely. I would like to see her on the scales before the start of racing for sure.
ReplyDelete@ Seamus - not at all - i once built a concept Footy from rice paper and yacht varnish back home that weighed only 210gms. Would have worked too had a duck not eaten it!!!
ReplyDeleteYou sir are a buffoon! Just because no one else has been able to manage it doesn't mean that our race engineers can't pull off this magnificent feat!
ReplyDeleteBe-gone with you I say and keep your preposterous comments to yourself (unless she sinks, then i apologise)
